EPISODE 4: WORTH OVER OBEDIENCE WITH SUSIE MACKIE

Susie Mackie Interview

Susie’s idyllic childhood was over shadowed by the messages she was taught by her elders, in particular that she must ‘obey’. This curse hung over her as she ventured into adulthood relationships with little experience of what being obedient could do to her. After three marriages, the child, once confident and often described by her teachers as a ‘leader’ became a women with little self-worth.

In our conversation Susie shares how she found her worth and battled with the demons left by being obedient.

At the age of fifty, Susie graduated with a first class degree in photography, which gave her confidence that she could do something well.

Drawing on her personal and professional experiences, Susie’s purpose is for women to know their real worth and to encourage them towards self-love and self-empowerment with this she founded ‘Women of Spirit’ in 2017 a movement that has gone from strength to strength. Sharing the message ‘to thrive, not just survive’ delivered through books and an online platform providing a community space for women to share, support, enlighten and inspire.
