Inktober: Dodge

Dodge.

One, two, three, four,
In breath,
Close eyes,
You can do this,
It's okay.

I know you remember,
All the times,
They laughed,
They called you names,
They didn't include you,
They never took your advice,
They never remembered you were there,
When you needed them so badly,
You cried alone,
Screamed, but nobody heard.

It's okay,
Because,
You dodged the ball,
That could have taken you down completely,
You carried on.

Now you are here,
For once, everything is clear.

It's okay, to shed tears for the younger you,
She still hurts,
From all they threw at you.

It feels lighter
When you need to move on.

It's time to crack open that hard shell you created around yourself.

Step out.
Spread your wings.
