ESCAPISM

Escapism ~ the tendency to seek distraction and relief from unpleasant realities, especially by seeking entertainment or engaging in fantasy.

Do you hide away from your problems, only to have them creep up on you again and again?

As human beings, we often talk about where we would love to escape from. Our worries, relationships, work, money... And it seems that our answers will be found if we could just turn it all off and ignore it, because if you ignore it, it will all go away eventually, right?

Over the years I have done exactly that, hidden away from my fears, my worries, and ignored my responsibility to accept what has happened, no matter who is to blame, only to feel ten times worse about my self and my situation than I should. Do you know that feeling?

It feels crap, right? Maybe you have an inkling that you do this now, but you are trapped in a repetitive cycle, unsure of what next step to take to move forward, to stop telling yourself tales.

It's ok if you are, there is a way to take the first step...

"Escapism is where we go to ignore our problems

- so where do we go to break free from them?"

You see I have noted from my own experience and those around me that we focus on the from and not the to. If you have experienced pain in your life, or been lost it can be difficult to snap out of woe and fear of the unknown, and when we are there we do not know for sure that what is on the other side of our pain could actually be ok, in fact so much better than we are now, because we are hiding and not seeking.

How do you take the first step?

ABSORB YOURSELF IN THE HEALING PROCESS

There is no amount of anything else in life you will be open to seeing if you do not heal. Taking the time to heal, and accepting that it will take time, is the way you make room for all the love that WILL pour into your life as you go through the process.

During my healing process I discovered so many things I had forgotten about myself, things I loved about me, and you can too.

As always thank you for being such an invaluable part of my life.
