JUNE - ROSE

 

Facts: Roses, the queen of the flowers have been used for skincare for 1000's years, the production of rose oils began in Persia, Two thousand flowers are required to produce one gram of oil. 

The latin word 'ros' means both rose and dew.

Properties: Regenerates, a toner, an antioxidant, activates collagen production, evens skin tone, soothes, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, hydrates and gives skin a fresh glow.

Essence: Each flower has its own quality, healing power, a roses essence is especially good for the skin as it is the outermost part of the plant, corresponding with the outermost part of the body - the skin, not only that they help us amp up the self-love.

 

3 RECIPES WITH ROSE

 

ROSE SALT SCRUB:

This easy recipe is pure joy, the salts help to balance your ph levels and draw out toxins. Epsom salts are a great source of magnesium – this mineral reduces inflammation, supports healthy circulation and aids peaceful sleep. Rose is a natural mood brightener.

You could customize the ‘In The Pink’ salt soak which contains coconut milk powder, Coconut milk powder moisturises and softens the skin has anti-inflammatory properties. Coconut milk powder is also rich in lauric acid and vitamins B, C & E.

Exfoliating not only sloughs away old cells it preps your skin for deep hydration and moisturising. Each of our 3 body balms is a formula kit with different actions.

All 3 balms are silky and luxurious and each has been formulated with wild flower oils to lock in lasting moisture. Super concentrated, a little goes a long way, your skin will feel soft, smoothed and moisturised.

 

2 cups salt

½ cup of fresh or dried rose petals

40 ml sunflower oil

½ cup of rosehip powder (available online)

10 drops of rose essential oil

HYDRATING ROSE SPRITZ:

Rose water or rose hydro-sol is the water that was used for the steam distillation process used for extracting an essential oil. It has active molecules that have skin cell regenerating properties, a multi-use hero. There are so many organic rose hydro-sols available online.

1. Use as a toner after cleansing and lock in that extra hydration with your usual moisturiser. Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, closes pores and firms the skin.

2. Spritz throughout the day to freshen and for the mist of calm it envelops you in.

3. Add to a clay face mask for added hydration and its potent ability to tone fine lines and wrinkles, try it with The Wild Mix - Hibiscus Bloom face mask.

 

 

ICED ROSE & LEMON TEA: 

Iced Rose tea is not only a great way to hydrate your skin but it will help you to stay focused and your mind clear throughout the day.

Make up a jug of rose tea, add your lemon, sweeten with honey and when it’s cooled add a tablespoon of chia seeds for extra fibre, antioxidants and Omega 3 (essential fatty acids).

Transfer to a flask or bottle to keep this hydrating hero with you all day.
